IFMA European Muaythai Championship: DAY 2
Here are the results of the second day of the IFMA European Championship. World champions Sofia OLOFFSON, Nili BLOCK and Patricia AXLING successfully entered the competition.

FILIPH WALDT (Sweden) VS MYKHAILO VASYLI (Ukraine)
The Ukrainian immediately seizes his opponent. The Swedish is not very good at clinch, and MYKHAILO takes advantage of this flaw. After an explosive start, the two nak muay want to be precise, to hurt with low kicks and fists. At round two, SINI manages to take the advantage, he does a great job, moves forward, pins his opponent on the ropes, quickens his legs, first low then middle kick. Tiredness appears on KOVTUN’s face, he has a low guard. SINI wants the victory and seeks it. A fantastic dedication from USABZISLAU SINI who wins the fight.

A fantastic fight from the Ukrainian who puts pressure on his opponent, a Portuguese fighter hard with his fists but unable to block him. Victory of OLEH HUTA.

SERGUEY KOSYKH (Russia) VS RAMAN DOUNAR (Belarus)
The Russian is stocky and smaller than his opponent, however he breaks the distance from the beginning, which forces the Belarusian to lower the guard. KOSYKH scores points, he has a fimeu boxing style. Russian KOSYKH SERGUEY wins a very powerful and intense fight.

BARIS GUZEL (Turkey) VS TADEAS RUZICKA (Czechia)
The Turk fighter has a calm boxing style, he examines, weakens his opponent, has more precise punches. Victory of GUZEL BARIS.

GUILLAUME BABOUIN (France) VS ALEXA SKVORTSOV (Russia)
The audience can enjoy the muay thay attitude of the French but he is not offensive enough and the Russian takes the advantage right from the first round. The Russian is precise and powerful, he mainly boxes low, then up, to hit his opponent. He is completely at ease on the ring, which is noticeable from the way he takes his chest away and throws punches. The French does not listen to his staff enough when he is advised to use elbows. Too bad for him, he could wrongfoot his opponent this way. But Guillaume is self-assured, he is on the ring, does his bit, but SKVORTSOV’s combinations are faster and get him on the ropes too often, while Alexa scores points. A definitive victory for SKVORTSOV ALEXA.

VASYL SOROKYN (Ukraine) VS ABDALLAH HABIB (Sweden)
The Ukrainian is on top, he alternates his attacks with middle and fists, while ABDALLAH HABIB remains too passive. Minute after minute, VASYL frequently pins his opponent on the ropes throwing hooks to the body and high kicks. The referee stops the fight at round 2, HABIB is knackered. Victory of VASYL SOROKYN.

OMID SAFDARI (Germany) VS KONSTANTIN KUZEN (Russia)
The German fighter has very hard fists but he does not seize the opportunities to quicken his low kicks and jabs, and the Russian manages to block him. OMID SAFDARI is exhausted at the end of the fight. Victory for Russian KONSTANT.

CEKEN OSMAN (Turkey) VS YAUHEN LASHEUSK (Belarus)
CEKEN OSMAN controls the fight from the beginning to the end, he has an excellent reach and excellent front kicks. Victory for CEKEN OSMAN.

MARTYNAS JASIUN (Lituania) VS ADELINO MORTE (Portugal)
A sharp fight with much observation and pungent punches. Beautiful throwing, reverse elbow strikes from the Lithuanian fighter who blocks the kicks nearly all the times. But the Portuguese gets back on top and wins the fight. Victory for ADELINO MORTE.

SAMUEL DBILI (France) VS ROSTYSLAV KARPYCH (Ukraine)
The French starts a good fight in spite of the quite hard assaults and punches from his opponent. The Ukrainian clinches him so strong, that a rope breaks him a rib.
He continues to fight, but in the second round, after a hook on his weakened and probably broken rib, SAMUEL is bent. It’s impossible to go on, the referee stops the fight. Too bad, because SAMUEL had shown his ability to bounce back, especially by countering with fists, then breaking the distance afterwards. Victory for ROSTYSLAV KARPYCH.

SCOTT KELLY (Ireland) VS JOHAN ANDERSSON (Sweden)
A good start for this fight, in which both nak muay give the best of themselves. The Swedish has a fimeu boxing style and good clinchings. JOHAN ANDERSSON wins the fight.

MIKITA SHOSTAK (Belarus) VS OSKAR MOSBERG (Poland)
Nikita moves forward, observes, then throws fists, jabs and weakening hooks, low and middle kicks that sap the Pole’s front leg. When the Pole tries to clinch, NIKITA throws him on the ground. The second round is less explosive, but the Belarusian throws fantastic reverse elbow strikes. The third round is not more rhythmic than the previous one, but the punches are powerful, OSKAR finally enters his fight and is definitely more offensive, he is surprising, but it is a bit too late for the IFMA format. Victory for NIKITA SHOSTAK.

ULADZISLAU SHED (Belarus) VS ERDOGAN BUGRA (Turkey)
The Turkish fighter leads the fight from the beginning, he varies his boxing, accelerates. His legs are fast, powerful. His blocks his opponent by clinching him. He leads all the rounds. Very brave, the Belarusian stands, counters with straight lefts and rights and with fists and attacks. But he is shaken up, the referee counts him in round 3 a first time, then another time a few seconds later, then it is the end, the referee stops the fight. Turkish victory for ERDOGAN BUGRA.

SATU MYKKUNEN (Finland) VS NEGODINA VERA (Russia)
Real warriors! None of them seems to be ready to give up, both of them move forward with fists, then a knee. Their style is pure muay. The Russian wins the first and the second rounds, but she is exhausted and in round 3 she retreats under SATU’s assaults, front kicks, elbow strikes, she shows all her boxing, definitely a nak muay with loads of skills. Russian NEGODINA VERA wins the fight.

MYRIAME DJEDIDI (France) VS ANASTASYA KALA (Biélorussie)
Myriame immediately takes the lead over her opponent, she attacks for first, in low line, then counters the Belarusian with fists. Then throughout the fight, Myriame moves forward, wrongfoots Anastasya in round 2, pins her on the ropes, clinches her with an impressive speed. DJEDIDI imposes her boxing, and she is superb, she wins her fight hands down. Honour to her opponent who fought till the end. Myriame DJEDIDI brilliantly defends our colours.

VALERIYA DROZDOVA (Russia) VS SOFIA OLOFSON (Sweden)
SOFIA OLOFSON is not impressed by the aggressive assaults of the Russian, she blocks, shifts, then fights. She moves forward, imposes her boxing. Sofia has a punchy style, she also uses her knees a lot, she is a skilled, powerful technician. The way she masters our sport is definitely impressive, the way she takes her chest away is perfect, almost every kick she throws reaches her opponent. SOFIA OLOFSON wins.
57 kg - Senior Female
IELO PAGE (France) VS PATRICIA AXLING (Sweden)
IELO attacks for first, her middle kicks are powerful, but she gradually lets AXLING lock her up in clinching. The fight is very hard for the French, she suffers knee strikes and a strong pressure from her opponent. Despite a nice reverse elbow strike, she is counted two times during the second round, then gets caught in the ropes and suffers loads of clinchings in the face. The referee stops the fight. IELO’s challenge was huge: facing the defending champion right from the first fight was a gamble! Victory in round 2 for Swedish PATRICIA AXLING.

NORA CORNOLLE (France) VS SUZSVAN NAGY (Hungary)
SUZSVAN NAGY seizes Nora in body right from the beginning, but the strategy does not pay off. First, because Nora is brilliant, she fights back, gives no respite. The technical level of Nora CORNOL is great, she clinches her opponent, she walks her on the ring, continuously alternates middle and fists. The Hungarian is counted twice in the first round, then from the beginning of the second one, the referee stops the fight. Victory for NORA CORNOL, a nak muay to follow! We will talk about her!

NILI BLOCK (Israel) VS TIDBALD KESKIKANGAS (Sweden)
NILI, the defending IFMA champion, imposes her tempo to the fight from the start. Fast and mobile on the ring, she dodges, seizes, clinches. Very lively, she stings, hits the target almost all the times. NILI wins without difficulty on all three rounds. Victory for NILI BLOCK.

ERICA BJORNSTR (Sweden) VS NAOIL TITA (France)
Not often Erica takes advantage of her reach and of her tall height. The French gives fights back, her front kicks and seizures of legs regularly make the Swedish fall. A wonderful clinch fight strikes. A very nice reverse elbow strike by the French. NAOIL TITA wins the fight despite a slight cardio weakness on the last round. A beautiful, full of action, fight.

MAELLE DEBOULLE (France) VS ELEONORA FILIPS (Cyprus)
To start the fight, a clinching which will last until the end. The French does not fight back enough and lets her opponent take the advantage. MAELLE is not unworthy, she fights, but her opponent has a better level than hers. ELEONORA FILIPS wins.
The most remarkable fights of the day are those led by the defending champions, Swedish PATRICIA AXLING and Israeli NILI BLOCK. Definitely high-level and high-quality nak muay.
